The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership is offering a newly revamped monthly digest of news relating to low carbon transport. The latest issue includes an article in favour of the introduction of a ‘feebate’ scheme similar to the ‘bonus-malus’ initiative successfully used in France, in order to drive low carbon vehicle uptake. The feebate scheme works by giving buyers of low emission cars a significant rebate while buyers of high emission gas-guzzlers pay an extra fee. In addition to recent policy developments and industry events, previous issues have also included articles about the Transport Secretary’s public support for the low carbon vehicle industry and key findings from the latest Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) report.
