As the voice of local governments at all key UN climate meetings
since 1995, ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability was
pleased to collaborate with a strong South African Local
Government Partnership to organise the “Durban Local
Government Convention: Adapting to a Changing Climate” in
the historic City Hall of Durban – a high level parallel platform
to the UNFCCC COP17/CMP7, and to partner with a wide
spectrum of international agencies to effectively raise the
profile, importance and commitment of local government and
sub-national government climate action.
