The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that holds the largest database of primary corporate climate change information in the world, gathered on behalf of institutional investors and major purchasing organizations in the public and private sectors. CDP’s mission is to accelerate solutions to climate change by putting relevant information at the heart of business, policy and investment decisions. This report summarises the reasons why cities should disclose climate change-related information. It also highlights the numerous benefits that can accrue

for cities that participate in CDP’s program, and details some of the ways in which common disclosure from local governments can lead to safer, more prosperous cities.
