Local Economic Assessments: Consultation on draft statutory guidance

http://www.communities.gov.uk/documents/citiesandregions/pdf/1420761.pdf Section 69 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 places a new duty on county councils and unitary district councils to prepare an assessment of local economic conditions. The duty is due to come into force on 1st April 2010. The Department for Communities and Local Government has published draft guidance which explains what the new duty is intended to achieve and how assessments should be taken forward. Comments are requested by 15 March 2010.. |
