Climate Action has been produced in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) from its launch in 2007, to encourage businesses and organizations to reduce their carbon footprint, highlighting the suggestion that environmentally responsible operations can also be profitable. Produced to coincide with the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP) held in December of each year, the launch edition was distributed in Bali in 2007, the second edition in Poznan in 2008, the third edition of Climate Action has been released to coincide with COP 15 held in Copenhagen on 7-18 December 2009.
